Successful grid connection of No.1 gas turbine in the 1500MW gas combined cycle independent power plant project on the Syr River in Uzbekistan
The commissioning company undertakes the electrical single unit, subsystem, and complete set commissioning and thermal control single unit commissioning work for the 1500MW gas combined cycle independent power plant project in the Syr River, Uzbekistan. At 10:47 am on October 27, 2023, 1 # gas turbine was successfully connected to the grid for the first time.
The 1500MW Gas Combined Cycle Independent Power Plant Project on the Syr River in Uzbekistan has a net output of 1562MW, consisting of two 9H class gas turbines, two waste heat boilers, one steam turbine, a 500KV/220KV substation, and other auxiliary systems and buildings. It is the world's highest combustion temperature, single unit power, and efficiency H-class gas turbine and "zero discharge of wastewater" design.
The project started construction in October 2020 and was the first independent developer investment project approved by the Uzbekistan government; It is the largest thermal power project signed in Central Asia in recent years; It is also the first gas combined cycle power plant project signed by a Chinese enterprise in Uzbekistan. The project is located in the Syr River Oblast of Uzbekistan, approximately 150 kilometers south of the capital Tashkent; Located in the north of the original thermal power plant, it covers an area of approximately 25 hectares.
The project faces two huge difficulties and challenges: firstly, language communication. This project adopts the direct management mode of the owner, and the owner's management personnel are all foreign. Therefore, high requirements are placed on the ability of our debugging team members, who must have a strong level of language proficiency, which brings certain difficulties to the on-site work. The second is a strict external management model. The owner's management requirements for the process are very cumbersome, and they have also put forward higher management requirements for debugging work. The system has very strict requirements for the execution of the PTW and LOTO systems, from installing WALKDOWN to signing ECC to completing the TOP. Once a certain step is stuck, the debugging work may be severely delayed.
Faced with severe project schedule pressure and complex internal and external environments, the Uzi Gas Turbine Project Debugging Team, with strong support from leaders and cooperation from the project team, fully utilizes everyone's subjective initiative to organize and plan the debugging of key systems, strengthen communication with installation and other departments, strictly control the quality and safety of the debugging process, and ensure the achievement of project progress milestones and goals!
Under the strict supervision of the owner and HSE, and after scientific and rigorous debugging work, on August 8, 2023 at 2:15 am, the 1 # main transformer and 1 # high station transformer were successfully connected to the grid for the first time. On October 13, 2023 at 1:32 am, the 2 # main transformer and 2 # high station transformer were successfully connected to the grid for the first time. On October 27, 2023 at 10:47 am, the 1 # gas turbine was successfully connected to the grid for the first time. We have achieved one victory after another. At the beginning, the project and owner leaders had no trust in our debugging work and developed a skeptical attitude. After repeatedly confirming the milestone dates of the project, they achieved them on schedule and gained high recognition. Having won the honor for the group company, the big guy is happy in his heart and has more confidence to face the bigger challenges ahead, delivering satisfactory answers for the smooth completion of the project.
