Recently, on the Gobi desert in Naomaohu Town, Yiwu County, Hami City, Xinjiang, the scorching sun baked the earth as wind and sand carried waves of intense heat. At the construction site of the Xinjiang Huineng Coal Clean and Efficient Utilization Project, undertaken by the Construction Engineering Division of the group company, work is proceeding in a tense yet orderly manner. Since entering the site in mid-June, the project construction team has faced the harsh environment of extreme summer heat and strong sandstorms head-on, organizing construction scientifically and fully ensuring project progress.
The Xinjiang Huineng Project is a key initiative for the group company to expand its market in Northwest China. After winning the bid, the project team sprang into action: the first group of key personnel arrived on-site within three days, groundbreaking was achieved within five days, and subsequent resources including personnel, materials, and equipment were promptly deployed. So far, critical milestones such as the foundations for the closed cooling tower of the circulating water field, the cold box foundation, and the pure oxygen gasification framework foundation have been completed one after another. The chairman of the client company remarked, "The speed of entry and construction efficiency demonstrated by Henan Installation showcase a different level of robust capability!"
Naomaohu Town is located 320 kilometers from Hami City, characterized by a severe natural environment: from June to September, daily sunlight lasts up to 14 hours, with temperatures reaching up to 45°C, posing a significant challenge for employees newly arrived from inland regions; frequent Level 4 or stronger winds and sandstorms bring many inconveniences to daily life; unstable voltage affects air conditioning usage, and water from self-provided wells appears light brown due to sand content.
"The tougher it is, the more we push forward!" Led by Deputy Project Manager He Zhengfei, the on-site management team dove into the construction site with a "who else but us" determination. To meet deadlines, workers took shifts, and their uniforms, soaked with sweat and dried repeatedly, were marked with salt stains resembling "maps," yet no one complained. "There are no bystanders on the Gobi desert, only doers" became the team's most resonant motto.
While efficiency drives the project, quality remains paramount. Initially, when harsh conditions threatened to cause worker attrition, the project department actively implemented the group company's "Three Services" philosophy, striving to address practical issues for collaborative teams, stabilizing the workforce and ensuring smooth project progression.
Simultaneously, the project department strictly controlled construction preparation and technical briefings. By appropriately extending effective working hours and raising acceptance standards for processes, they ensured compliance with the client's requirements in progress, quality, and safety. Notably, the pouring quality of the circular storage tank foundation and the earthwork backfilling for the circulating water plant received commendations from the client.
Today, the project is accelerating. The builders of Henan Installation measure the Gobi with their footsteps and interpret the spirit of "especially capable of enduring hardship, especially capable of fighting, and especially capable of dedication" through their perseverance. Their efforts not only inject momentum into the project's early operation but also write a robust chapter for Henan Installation in the vast land of Xinjiang.
