On March 14, 2025, the "four-in-one unit" for dilute nitric acid constructed by our company was successfully impulse-started. This unit is composed of the EKOL steam turbine from Shaanxi Blower (Group) Co., Ltd. in the Czech Republic, the E71-3 nitrogen oxide compressor, the AV56-14 axial compressor, and the WP63-5 tail gas expander. The four core equipment operate in combination, achieving a high degree of integration of the process system and the cyclic utilization of energy, filling the gap in the company's construction technology in this field and accumulating valuable experience for subsequent similar projects.
Since the project was launched, the project team has carried out scientific overall planning and implemented a visualized operation plan. In view of the fact that the unit adopted the design of "four-machine linkage" for the first time, the project department, in combination with the equipment manufacturer, repeatedly optimized the pipeline layout and the logic of the control system to ensure the seamless connection of the equipment. On December 10, the conditions for oil circulation were achieved ahead of schedule, securing a crucial window period for subsequent commissioning. It took three months to complete the calibration of thousands of parameters. All pipelines adopted stress-free piping to eliminate the risk of deformation caused by thermal expansion and contraction and vibration. The difficult problem of the alignment deviation of the coupling between the steam turbine and the compressor was overcome, ensuring that the shaft system deviation between the steam turbine and the compressor was less than 0.02mm. Finally, on March 14, the "four-in-one unit" was successfully impulse-started at the first attempt, and indicators such as vibration and temperature rise are all better than the industry standards.
The successful operation of this unit not only verifies the company's comprehensive service capabilities from construction to commissioning but also forms a complete set of technical systems covering installation standards, commissioning procedures, and emergency response plans, providing a replicable experience template for subsequent large-scale unit projects in the chemical industry fields such as nitric acid and ammonium nitrate.
